You Can Vote with Your Music!

Vote Dixie Chicks!

Natalie Maines is one of those people born middle finger first. Her famous statement was,
Just so you know, we're ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas
She apologized. Now she has retracted that apology:
I apologized for disrespecting the office of the president. But I don't feel that way anymore. I don't feel he is owed any respect whatsoever.
The first single from the Dixie Chicks' new album, "Taking the Long Way", is called "Not Ready to Make Nice."

Vote early and often.
Buy it now.

  1. I have absolutely no respect for this chick and Ill tell you why. She slammed Bush in a foreign country where it was safe. Then she caught flack here and retracted because their music sales and radio play suffered.

Now that it is time to promote a new album guess who is back running her mouth. I see this as pure publicity. She obviously hasnt got the courage to stand by her original statment and now that hte atmosphere here is a little more condusive she takes another shot at Bush.

I respect bush little to none, I respect her less. Aside from that country music is awful. I agree with you in principal but not on this chicks statement.

  2. You have a point, James. I can see why some people are pissed that it originally went down in the U.K.

It's a little like George Galloway in Cuba, talking about bombing Tony Blair.

But I like the Chicks and country music, and I disrespect Bush and Blair.

    Everything else is details.

  3. Vigilante, sorry this is off-topic, but I thought considering your picture that you might want to check out our Kommandos Project. Though I've been doing this for a while, a number of us bloggers are conducting a coordinated Memorial Weekend Protest and have a new blog devoted to just our project.

  4. While I admire Natalie Maines' outspoken nature, it seems to have distracted from the music - which is awesome. Sadly, she and her bandmates have gotten a little uppity since '03 and it's a shame. A little humility wouldn't hurt.

  5. Don't ask him for examples, Mal.

AWG is a fan. (Checkout his site). Don't provoke him. (I'm concerned about my bandwidth!)
