My Labor Day Weekend Message

Attack on Iran = Strike 3!

Imagine!
. . . if 25,000 of these posters went up on busy streets, dorm windows, and neighborhood walls all across the country, becoming an image no one can avoid.

Millions are disgusted at the prospect of another unjust (and possibly nuclear) war, and their outrage needs to find voice and organization.

Impeach!

  1. Bush`s first duty to the special interest groups that control him is to expand the economy.
War is the short cut, and fall back position to do that, and has been since the late 1940`s.

Going after Bush will not affect the big picture.

    Bush is only a puppet.

Getting at the real dynamic of our system and exposing it for what it is, may be the first step in changing things.

The stock market will soar again in an Iran attack, just as it did after the Iraq attack.
Private, for profit company`s will feed at the debt token (money) trough again, and the system will once again expand.
If it does not expand, it spells doom for the system.
We are in a circle of doom.

  2. I think a war tired military and a war tired public may be shrubs undoing if he invades Iran.

Sure, war is good for Wall Street and the already wealthy but the poor suffer and the middle class drop to the (or just above) poverty line.

Hitlers followers wouldn't even follow him all the way into hell. I'm hoping and praying these neocons on God's mission (cough) will wake up too.

  3. Keep in mind that a 'war' with Iran could be waged remotely with airplanes, and shutting them down economically by blockading them.

Very few people would be used, but lots of resources.

Most Americans have proven to be passive by-standers in recent years, more concerned with issues of deteriorating personal finances than anything else.

Another conflict would increase the demand for the goods and services of the war machine.

It is the Federal Government which drives the war machine.

Resource manipulation and destruction would follow, with war profiteering the under pinning of another 'fake' war.

Unless this economy grows, it does not 'work'.

Since the rationale of our system depends on this, we are in a no win situation unless the mechanics of the present system change.

Yes, and some of Bush`s speech`s are almost knock offs of Hitlers.
Politicians will stoop to almost any thing to try to 'get over'.

Chaos approaches. 'War' is not what it used to be, and the ability to contain another 'war' (ploy to make money)is an open question.

  4. Our first defense against an attack of Iran isn't to argue that it's a bad idea for whatever reason. Our first defense is to demand that the Executive branch live within its limits. Congressional Democrats should make clear that any preemptive military strike would lead instantly to impeachment proceedings

  5. "Congressional Democrats should make clear that any preemptive military strike would lead instantly to impeachment proceedings."

Slight problem with your logic Ite.

It is the Military/Industrial/Congressional complex, that is driving the Federal government.

    Are you following me ?

We are where we are because of these supposed rescuers you are trying to conjure up.

    Those are the 'bad' guys.

No, they are not really bad, but they only play within the context of the present Rules of the Game.

These people have one obligation and one only. To expand the economy.
Do you really think that a Hillary Clinton, who sat on the board of Walmart for years, or an Obama, that believes in the religious lies of the brainwashed Middle East, are going to make decisions, other than ones based on special interest groups of political or religious belief ?

The fundamental basic approach of our system no longer works.

  6. What did I miss? I heard some saber rattling by the administration but that is nothing new. Is there an attack imminent? I doubt it. Although as Skip points out we could send unmanned drones, fully armed, to bomb Iran's bombs. Where does this all end?

  7. What's behind Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's invitation for Ahmadinejad to visit Iraq is Maliki's pledge not to allow Iraq to become a base for an attack on Iran).

  8. Hi Vigilante,

Hope you had a pleasant summer holiday. We did!

I see things are getting more exciting with each passing day, eh?

Bush promised to do something about Iran before his term expires and seems he's stepping up the drumbeat. Gobsmacking in the extreme!

He must be impeached before he executes his plans of war on Iran by proxy.

(Btw, this is Hillblogger - using a diff comp - couldn't be bothered to log into my account.)

  9. What drove the invasion of Iraq, and what prolongs the occupation:

U.S. Undersecretary of State R. Nicholas Burns at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston last April 11:

Imagine an Iranian government that was powerful, radical, and in possession of nuclear weapons; imagine the threat that would pose to Israel and to the American-led balance of power, which has been so important in the Middle East since the close of the Second World War. That is our first challenge.

Our second challenge is that Iran continues to be the central banker of Middle East terrorism. It is the leading funder and director of Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine general command. Third, Iran is in our judgment a major violator of the human rights of its own people; it denies religious, political, and press rights to the people of a very great country representing a very great civilization. And so we see a problem that is going to be with us for a long time, and we are trying to fashion a strategy that will work for the long term.

It's always been the three I's. Not so much about Iraq as about Iran and Israel.

  10. What? No WMD's? No al Qaeda terrorists? All we have now is all we ever had? the Iran-Israel PRE-OCCUPATION?

    I'm shocked and awestruck.

  11. It may be noteworthy that people like the right reverend John Hagee, and Jack VanImpe, and Hal Linsey, people who have books on the NewYork Times best seller lists, as well as 10`s of millions of Americans, and others that listen to them, believe that a 'New Jerusalem' is in the works, as their hero Jesus Christ approach`s.

This Jesus, sometimes known as the Lion of Judah, according to these religious fellows opinions, is going create this marvelous land between the Tigris, and the Nile rivers, and this very large area will govern the world with Jerusalem as its capital.

Although no one really knows just how crazy a Bush or Cheney really are, it is not beyond the pale to imagine that these fine Christian fellows believe in all that nonsense.

According to born again religious advocates, the Jews will mostly be killed in this scenario, and the remainder that are not will 'decide' to become Christians.

While this sounds like some crazy, ingenious story, that perhaps I am making up, it actually is mainstream Christianity currently in the good old U.S.A.

Of course both the Jews and the Iranians are well aware of this dynamic coming from America also.

Back to the circle of doom.

The Iranians and the Jews have an interesting and ancient relationship.

Many of the Christian groups are saying very emphatically that this conflagration will be Nuclear.

Lord protect us from your followers.
