It's not too early to study up and get to know him. Here's an advance reading list!

  2. Doomed! Let's just hope the evil bushies are doomed before the rest of us. Bush's idiocy has no bounds.

  3. Gee, its the war of the Mormons. Mormons are scary. Complete religious wackos.
So, who`s next... Romney, another belief system flunky, is flush with cash. Mormons are rolling in dough.
    Cash means Special Interest. Ugh.
Stand up and salute. Money Rules.

  4. Stella & Vigil, I'd be betting that Hatch would not be the selectee (of the White House anyway) because of his competence, which would exceed his personal loyalty to Bush. Congressional Republicans may insist on Hatch to restore order, but the White House would prefer some one less competent and more loyal. (Republican Governor Huntsman would appoint interim Senator, so that wouldn't be a problem.) Could be interesting intra Republican battle.

  5. Put Wolfowitz in as A.G. He's not going to be at the World Bank much longer, and he didn't need a M.B.A. to qualify for that, so he shouldn't neeed a J.D. for the DoJ. Just keep him out of the DoD! Besides, he's already served as War Czar!

  6. Makes me slightly smug to be on the other side of the Atlantic...although we don't have it much better over here!

  7. Sometimes I wonder if we need to do or say anything at all: they're doing a good job destroying themselves without our feedback. Or, maybe it's our feedback that's revealed their arrogance and ignorance.

Hatch is not only incompetent, but his voting record gives me the chills: Project Vote Smart—Orrin Hatch.

I hope Congress doesn't put this ultraneocon in, especially given the latest Supreme Court ruling on partial birth abortions.

If you want to see your Senators', Representatives', and candidates' records, Project Vote Smart is a great resource.

  8. fwrlrYou can't tell by listening to his testimony if Gonzales did ANY actual work to fulfill the duties of his position. It seems highly likely, though, that he was at least trying to cover for his friend and mentor.

Orrin Hatch, with his simplistic view of life and law, would be a terrible replacement for either Attorney General or someone on the Supreme Court.
