  1. Vig: Is that you? I was trying to listen to the debate and read the paper at the same time, but I heard something that worried me. I think I heard Obama give a fairly long declaration of his religious faith, which might be taken by the evangelical population as a reassurance of his actions as president. It would have been much better if Obama, like Kennedy had stated that his religion was between himself and his God. If I heard him wrong, please let me know and I will apologize to him.

  2. I think you heard him talking about his faith publicly which I think is okay not only because it's free speech but because he has to fight the slander against him regarding his religion. It's also a good way to get elected in these "times." He has a cunning way of including every American among his constituency. In essence, he said a liberal theology needs to show up at the evangelical CHURCH so that right-wing theology isn't the only theology. I'll get on that bandwagon.

  3. Obama's religious declaration bothers me far less than the byzantine schemes the Clinton's seem to wallow in with pride.

  5. Vigilante, come February 6th, the gates of hell will open for you, because Hillary's win in California will have clinched her nomination. Prepare yourself for voting for her, whatever the weather is like in November.

  6. This is a great place to come to listen to pointless chatter. It is relaxing somehow to listen to the empty rhetoric of my fellow Americans.
Freud said that religion was a device to sublimate anger, and it was obviously designed by political system to do that.
After all some one must fight and die for the corporations, and work in pointless jobs to support the rich. Why not a brainwashed you ?

In other words why not shove it down the throat while developing a charming fantasy land that people pretend to live in (democracy).
In our age both religion and politics are melded for that job very well.
You all live in a sick twisted fantasy of democracy.
    gag it down Yellow dogs.

  8. Yes Yellow dogs ... why not ?

Why not take a little sugar with your awful medicine.

You believe. Believing means acting out your fantasy about democracy and sublimating your hopelessness with false ideals.

    Hello suckers.

  9. If Obama doesn't make it I can guarantee I will not vote for a Republican. I will not have a problem voting for a Democrat, including Hillary. Then again I am part of the vast majority that really liked Bill, despite his WHBJ. The years under Clinton were the most peaceful and prosperous in generations. If he could run again I guarantee I would vote for him.
