Friendly Fire

Poodles Make for Very Faithful Lap Dogs

In the aftermath of the Pentagon's cover-up of the friendly fire death of Lance Corporal Matty Hull, Prime Minister Tony Blair did his level best to express contrition.

He Said,
I am the person who above all can give evidence as to the difficulty and sometimes the political penalty you pay for a close relationship with the US, but we shouldn't give that up in any set of circumstances.

The relationship with America is what opens lots of doors everywhere, including the Middle East. For better or worse, this country for the last 10 years has been right at the heart of every single major international agenda - whether it is terrorism, climate change, Africa, whatever it is.

  1. Blair has single-handedly been trying to destroy that special relationship the Brits had with Americans.

Nasty piece of work that Blair is.

  2. He's so much a better speaker than our jackass. He must have a mind. He has to have at least half a mind, to speak so much better than our drugstore cowboy.

  3. We need the Brits for absolutely nothing.
They are the number one investors in the American economy , and their banking establishment was banned from operating here by the creators of America.
The bank of England moved in after Franklin and the founders died.
They are number one, in the Axis of Evil.
    England , U.S., Israel, Australia.
    Bush is more Blair's Poodle.
    Blair intelligent.? Ha Ha.
They still consider us a colony to exploit.
British Petroleum along with Saudi Oil made a fantastic showing of profit from the war. Still are.
Ever heard about realpolitik around here.?

  4. Oh yes, Tony sure knows how to spun a yarn! Looks of it, he managed to charm the Brits believing in a something mystical called the New Labor Party. Unfortynately his much ballyhooed oratorial skills are not enough to cover the fact, that he was unsuccessful in gambling on Bush and the new neo-con world order. Ironically, Tony believed Dubyas assurances, that those whom didn't join his crusades would become irrelevant and now finds himself with his handler on the sidelines.

Can you say as well as Tony can - "it mainly rains on plains of Spain"?

  5. A couple things should be pointed out.

What makes this Matty Hull case especially hard to stomach is not the fact for friendly fire. Friendly fire has been a part of all military activities since the advent of technology, part of the fog of war. What makes this case notorious, like the Pat Tillman case, is the cover-up that followed.

Secondly, someone should do some research on how many cases of friendly fire have been reported in Iraq. When they do, they should reflect on whatever they turn up is just the tip of the tip of the ice berg; because what goes unreported are all the "mistakes" when civilians "catch" our ordinance.
