All his conservatives hear is "standards." Yeah, standards (our standards don't count for them). We have a huge leftist, pro-union network of public schools that are largely based on egalitarianism and fairness--simply because the middle and lower classes are teaching and working there (they are not paid enough to be considered on the Ayn Rand track and do not adopt that philosophy for teaching). The right wants to kill the whole affair--morally and financially. Their kids can have Eton, poor kids can have McSchool or Clear Channel Inc.
