I can't help it. Inspite of all that has happened, I'm glad and proud to have put his signs up in my front yard in February of 2008. Don't like his appeasement of the Weimar Republicans. Don't like his appeasement of the Military Industrial Complex. Not a bit. But I still love him.
Maybe there's a little smidgeon of buyer's remorse that Hillary didn't get nominated. Would she have been a better fighter from the get-go? Don't know. Maybe. But this guy can talk the talk better than anyone current. Even if he can't - or won't - walk the walk.
He's still a keeper.

I get blasted for saying this and I do agree he is less than Kennedyesque but its a fucking tough job with him having to play by rules set in Washington DC bureaucracy stone long ago.
ReplyDeleteAmended post, Beach. But too late for your comment!
ReplyDeleteThe fact that the guy is nuanced (and not hardcore) is actually one of the things that I like about him.......Though, yes, I concur, his decision to "surge" in Afghanistan was exceedingly disappointing.
ReplyDeleteToo bad so many people are swayed by simpleton phrases like "He's a socialist." I appreciate that Obama doesn't try to give simpleton answers to complex questions.
ReplyDeleteMay I also join you and thanking President Obama for being the person he is.
ReplyDeleteWhat most naysayers fail to realize is the game of politics is rigged from the door and trying to change the culture in Washington is like pulling teeth.
Well said, Vigilante, and I agree completely.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted this and said what you said. Thanks.
